Silent Ode

She was devout in her faith, singing hymns to the divine maiden beneath the tower day and night, never once faltering. Many times she looked up at the tower, meeting the divine maiden's gaze, but the shadow within them eluded her understanding; still, she believed that one day she would grasp its meaning.
